What's
Been Done So Far
The County began
the Corridor Study process with a 3-day visioning workshop
session in December 2005 which included meeting with smaller
interest groups during the day and an evening meeting made
available for the general public to attend. Residents,
businesses, property owners, and community organizations
were invited to give input on the vision of Main Street.
Over 75 people participated in the 3-day workshop series.
Following the visioning workshop and largely based on citizen
input, the county developed two conceptual designs for Main
Street. In February 2006, an open house was held to give
the public an opportunity to see the results of the visioning
workshop and to comment on the two proposed concepts. |
What's
Happening Next
There are several
next steps in the process, as this Study is the early stage
in the Main Street project. The next steps include:
- County seeking funding from multiple sources (state
and federal grants)
- Finalize Corridor Study report
- Preliminary design and engineering
- Coordination with Freeland Sewer District planning efforts
- Construction
