County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation
Retail
Sales and Use Tax Increase
The
Board of Directors of the Island County Public Transportation
Benefit Area Corporation, Island County , Washington , doing
business as Island Transit, adopted Resolution No. 3-09
concerning an increase in the retail sales and use tax.
For the purpose of providing public transportation services
and needs of the Island County Public Transportation Benefit
Area Corporations’ public transportation system, this proposition
would allow the Island County Public Transportation Benefit
Area Corporation to levy an additional retail sales and
use tax not to exceed three-tenths of one percent, causing
the total of such retail sales and use tax levied not to
exceed nine-tenths of one percent, in accordance with Resolution
No. 3-09. Should this proposition be approved?

Regular
Property Tax Levy Lift
The
Board of Fire Commissioners of Island County Fire Protection
District No. 1, doing business as Camano Fire and Rescue,
adopted Resolution No. 2009-05 concerning the District’s
regular property tax levy. This proposition would authorize
the District to exceed the otherwise applicable Chapter
84.55 RCW regular property tax limitations to increase its
2009 regular property tax levy for collection in 2010 from
approximately $0.84 to an amount not to exceed $1.20 per
$1,000 of assessed valuation, subject to any otherwise applicable
dollar rate limitations. The dollar amount of this levy
would be used for the purpose of computing the limitations
for subsequent levies under RCW 84.55.050. Should this proposal
be approved?

Island County Fire Protection District No. 1, doing business
as Camano Island Fire and Rescue, be authorized to impose
regular property tax levies of fifty cents ($.50) or less
per thousand dollars of assessed valuation for each of six
consecutive years, commencing in 2009 for collection in
2010, to provide continued ambulance service and other emergency
medical services as provided in Island County Fire Protection
District No. 1 Resolution No. 2009-06?
