PRESS RELEASE
The Island
County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill two positions on the
Island County Affordable Housing Advisory Board. One applicant is sought for a
three year term to expire June 16, 2012 and the other position is to fill a
vacated position to expire June 16, 2011.
Applicants must represent the affordable housing construction industry,
commercial real estate financing, property management companies or agencies
that serve low income households.
The Board
of County Commissioners appoints Housing Advisory Board members for 3-year
terms, which may be renewed by mutual agreement. The Housing Advisory
Board is made up of 10-12 members, consisting of each of the Mayors or their
designee, along with representatives from the affordable housing construction
industry, commercial real estate financing, property management companies and
agencies that serve low income households.
The Housing
Advisory Board establishes an application process and “use and allocation”
recommendations for disbursing the Island County Low-Income Housing Surcharge
Fund, created and authorized by Resolution C-48-02 on June 10, 2002.
