PRESS RELEASE
The Island
County Board of Commissioners is seeking applicants to complete a term on the Housing
Authority Board of Commissioners. This term will run until December 6, 2010.
The Board
of County Commissioners appoints Housing Authority Board of Commissioner members
for 5 year terms, which may be renewed by mutual agreement. The Housing
Authority Board of Commissioners consists of 5 community members and 1 resident
member.
The
mission/purpose of the Housing Authority is to promote adequate and affordable
housing, economic opportunity and a suitable living environment free from
discrimination. To serve the citizens of
The Board
customarily meets monthly for up to 2 hours at a time. Regular meetings are scheduled on the second
Tuesday of each month except in December, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and are
subject to rescheduling as needed. In
December, an annual meeting is held at 10:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the
month. The annual meeting includes presentations
of the annual report for the prior fiscal year and election of Board officers
for the coming year.
