ISLAND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS – MINUTES OF MEETING

SPECIAL SESSION – JANUARY 26, 2001

The Board of Island County Commissioners met in Special Session on Friday, January 26, 2001, beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the Island County Courthouse Annex, Basement Hearing Room, Coupeville, Wa., with William F. Thorn, Chairman, and Wm. L. McDowell, Member, were present; Mike Shelton, Member, was absent. The special session was called to allow action on general County business because Monday, January 29, 2001, is a fifth Monday, and is not a regular meeting day.

VOUCHERS AND PAYMENT OF BILLS

The following vouchers/warrants were approved for payment by unanimous motion of the Board:

Voucher (War.) 2001 Warrants #92378 – 92436……………….….. $ 75,567.17

Veteran's Warrants #92526 –92529 ………………….1,510.00

2000 Warrants #92438 - 92524 ……………………..104,883.58

Veterans Assistance Fund: [emergency financial assistance to certain eligible veterans; the names and specific circumstances are maintained confidential]. By unanimous motion, the Board took the following action on three Veterans Assistance claims, in accordance with the recommendation of the Veterans Assistance Review Committee recommendation:

V1-4 Claim Denied in entirety

V1-5 Claim approved in the amount of $750.00

V1-6 Claim denied in entirety

ISLAND COUNTY PARKS BOARD APPOINTMENT

Joyce Christiansen, Camano Island, to refill the vacancy on the Island County Parks Board due to the resignation of George Wyse, for a term to June 30, 2003.

There being no further business to come before the Board at this

time, meeting adjourned at 9:40 a.m. The next Regular Meeting

is scheduled for February 5, 2001, at 9:30 a.m.
