ISLAND COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS - MINUTES OF MEETING
The
Board of Island County Commissioners met in
Special Session, Wednesday,
October 24, 2001, for a no-host
luncheon beginning at Noon, in the
Coupeville Town Hall Conference room, Coupeville, Washington. The session was called for the purpose of allowing
the County Commissioners’ participation in a
joint meeting with Elected Officials from Island County, City of Oak
Harbor, City of Langley, Town of Coupeville, and Port Districts. County Commissioners attending were: Wm. F. Thorn, Chairman; and Mike Shelton,
Member. Others attending included: Nancy Conard and Lloyd Furman.
The meeting
was called for the purpose of
discussing mutual issues and concerns. Topics briefly discussed included legislation; EDC and new director hired; Whidbey Island to Everett Passenger Ferry Service. The main topic discussed was a review
of the first 2% Hotel-Motel Funding decisions.
The
next meeting will be on November 28, 2001, likely in Oak Harbor at a location
to be announced, following the RTPO Meeting scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Skagit
Valley College, Room 137, in Oak Harbor.
