SPECIAL SESSION -
AUGUST 28, 2002
The Board of
Island County Commissioners met in Special Session on Wednesday, August 28, 2002, at 11:00 a.m.
in the Island County Courthouse Administration Building, Conference Room
#116, 1 N. E. 7th Street, Coupeville, Wa. The purpose of calling the
special session was to allow the County Commissioners to participate in a joint Council of
Governments meeting with Elected Officials from Island County, City of Oak
Harbor, City of Langley, Town of Coupeville, and Port Districts.
Attendance:
County Commissioners: Mike
Shelton, Chairman; Wm. L. McDowell, Member (William F. Thorn, Member,
absent)
Elected Officials: Nancy Conard, Mayor, Town of Coupeville;
Patricia Cohen, Mayor, City of Oak Harbor; and Lloyd Furman, Mayor, City of
Langley
Participants discussed remaining
items of concern with regard to proposed draft Articles of
Association for Council of
Governments. The draft will now be
taken back to the Town and Cities legal counsel for review. Finalization and adoption will hopefully take place
at a meeting in the near future.
Meeting adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
