PLANNING
UP-DATES
Planning
is a continuous process and the various emergency management
plans must be reviewed and up-dated on a regular basis.
Some plans like the CEMP are required to be reviewed annually,
at least in part. At this time, DEM is reviewing some
or all of the following plans:

WATER PLAN
Work
continues on two plans for the coordination and control of emergency
water supplies in the event of a prolonged disruption of electrical
power or other county emergency.
One
plan being developed by the DEM will provide the top-down coordination
and assignment of responsibilities for emergency water resources,
water distribution, and supply restoration. The other
plan is envisioned as a bottom-up plan or group of plans that
coordinate the pre-emergency preparations, emergency water controls,
distribution plans, and the coordinated restoration actions
of water suppliers. The bottom-up plans are being defined
by a functional panel of the County Water Resources Advisory
Committee(WRAC).
For
information on these efforts contact DEM at (360) 679-7370 or
e-mail: dem@co.island.wa.us.
Island
County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
The
EOP is the internal plan that outlines the basic operations
of the county Emergency Operations Center or EOC. An interim
version of the EOP has been completed and is available at:
EOP,

page.
