Next CHAB Event...  7 May 2008  Read all about who we are!   (All CHAB meetings are open to the public)

The next meeting of the Community Health Advisory Board (CHAB) will be Wednesday, 7 May at 5:30 pm at the Whidbey General Hospital, Conference Room A. This is the first meeting following our annual joint meeting with the Island County Board of Health where the recipients of the Linda Lee Martens Memorial Health Heroes  were recognized, and our current goals and strategies were presented. The agenda is now being set so please  notify Carrie McLachlan if you plan not to attend. We have much to discuss and work to schedule in order to meet our new objectives.

For minutes of the last meeting: (see minutes—  and the next meeting's Agenda

CHAB is always interested in recruiting new members, and visitors to our meetings are always welcome. To more fully understand and to assist in the community process, please consider personally participating in any of the Committees, Task Force teams, or Health Action projects that interest you... your experience and support will be invaluable to these projects. CHAB projects at present are:
     1.  Our two Health Action Teams:
             a) Communicable Disease: b) Physical Activity & Chronic Disease
2 Continuing work with the recently established  Children's Commission, a coalition working to
improve the support activities for the children of Island County, and
     3.  a temporarily halted project -- the Children's Fund  for Island County.

When/if you do choose to participate in CHAB, please notify Carrie McLachlan of your interest/activities.

Our Community Health work plan  is evolving as we continue our "Visioning for the New Millennium". If you are interested, come see CHAB at work.
