Water Resources Advisory Committee
Mission Statement
The mission of the Water Resource Advisory Committee is to ensure that the water resources of Island County are managed and protected in such a way as to ensure sustainable use, while protecting habitat, environmental and human health.
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the Water Resource Advisory Committee is to develop and oversee the implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive water resources program in Island County. We encourage public awareness, education, and involvement in water related issues.
There are twelve members on the Water Resource Advisory Committee. Four for each of the county's distinct geographical areas - North Whidbey, Central/South Whidbey, and Camano Island - representing the four water resource interests of Groundwater, Stormwater, Watershed Management, and Salmon Recovery.
Meeting Information
Public meetings are the first Thursday of each month, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Check the meeting schedule or local newspapers for locations, as they change.
