The Island County Health Department has developed a groundwater database that
includes well logs, stratigraphy, and water quality data. An
interface to this data has also been developed to assist in evaluating
groundwater availability, water quality and seawater intrusion issues.
Search Types: Two types of searches are available, radial and rectangular. For a radial search, the center of the search area can be defined by the center of a parcel, a well location, state plane coordinates, or a Township/Range-Quarter Quarter Section. The radius can be specified in feet or miles. For a rectangular search, the corners of the rectangle are specified as state plane coordinates, or by Township/Range-Quarter Quarter Section.
Tabular Results: A tabular listing of wells and a variety of
parameters
related to the wells. Search results
can be emailed as a RTF (Rich Text Format) or PDF document.
Well Location Maps:
A map of well locations can be generated for
the search area, and provided via email as a TIF or JPEG image or as a pdf
document.
Stratigraphic Stick Diagrams: A map of well locations and the
associated stratigraphy can be generated for
the search area, and provided via email as a TIF or JPEG image or as a pdf
document
Completion
Elevation Distribution: A graph showing the elevation of well
completion intervals can be generated for
the search area, and provided via email as a TIF or JPEG image or as a pdf
document. This simple graph provides information regarding where the
aquifers are located (elevations) in an particular area.
Well Logs: Washington State Water
Well Reports can be generated either individually or
as the result of a search and emailed as s a TIF or JPEG image or as a rtf or
pdf document.
The Washington Department of Ecology (DOE) has recently made well logs available on their web site. To get well logs directly from DOE click HERE!
