Island County Public Health
PUBLIC HEALTH - Always working for safer and healthier communities

HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Health Department special flu immunization clinics this year have been completed. Flu shots are still available at our regular immunization sites.

We do not anticipate a flu vaccine shortage this year, and will be offering flu vaccine to all who wish to have one. We will only bill Medicaid, Medicare and Group Health Medicare program recipients  ...for all others, the fee for the flu shots this year will be $30.00.

For persons with Medicare Part B or Medicaid Medical Coupons, it is imperative that we see your card or medical coupons at the time of service. Please be sure to bring your card or medical coupon with you to the clinic.

For those interested in the Pneumococcal Pneumonia Vaccine:  This immunization is administered only at our regular immunization clinics, and will  be available for $55.00.  Pneumonia shots are covered by Medicare/ Medicaid. The Center of Disease Control recommends this vaccine once in a lifetime, and it is recommended for people age 65 and older. Those who are younger than 65 and have a chronic illness or who are more likely to get pneumonia should consult with their physician.

Additional flu vaccine information is available at www.cdc.gov/flu .
