In 2009, Island County Public Health will expand the focus of their Healthy Island Youth Initiative to include children aged 0 to 5.  Activities will include:

    ●   Holding a workshop aimed at childcare providers to increase the physical  
        activity levels and consumption of fruits and vegetables of the children in
        their care 

    ●   Establishing an early childhood committee to develop draft policy guidelines
        for nutrition & physical activity
