School-based Mental Health Services
Our mission is to provide dynamic, creative and innovative mental health services in the school setting.
Our school based mental health counselors work in all four school districts of Island County; Oak Harbor, Coupeville, South Whidbey and Camano/Stanwood. We also serve students in the detention center.
Our counselors address a wide range of concerns:
- School adjustment and attendance problems
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Self esteem issues
- Bullying
- Suicide prevention
- Grief
- Relationship difficulties
- Emotional upset
- Gender and sexuality
- Behavior challenges
School based mental health counselors address these concerns through a variety of modalities. These include:
- Individual, group and family counseling
- Mediation
- Crisis intervention
- Parent support groups and classes
- Staff consultation
