On February 27, 2009 the Board of Island County Commissioners established the Planning Commission's 2009 Annual Review Docket. Eight items have been placed on the Docket this year. Below you will find a brief description of each item.
Currently, Planning Department staff are conducting research and developing staff proposals for each of the items. Staff proposals will be transmitted to the Planning Commission on May 1, 2009. Each proposal will also be posted on this webpage. You will find a hearing and meeting schedule at the bottom of this page which will tell you the date, location and subject matter for each hearing. |

Essential Public Facilities (EPF) – EPF’s are already defined in Island County and are already allowed within certain zoning designations. The proposed amendments do not change how EPF’s are defined. The proposed amendments would expand the allowance of EPF’s into some zoning designations where they are currently not allowed. Ebey’s Reserve – Proposed amendments to the standards and procedures that regulate development within Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve. These amendments modify permit review procedures, development standards, and they incorporate references to a companion design manual.
