NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NIMS) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS


NIMS Training

ICS-300 and ICS-400 are required courses for some first responders.  These courses are only offered in a classroom setting.

Questions about the classes or NIMS can be telephoned to DEM at (360) 679-7370 or e-mailed to dem@co.island.wa.us. Other requcourses required continue to be required in 2008 for first response personnel.  The required NIMS ICS courses are (with the exception of two mentioned above) are on-line and can be found on the FEMA web site.

ICS-300 AND ICS-400 are Tier 1 courses.  Both are classroom instruction only. The next ICS-400 class is TBD.

The several new on-line independent study (IS) courses related to ICS functions are now listed in the FEMA EMI catalogue.
