Sheriff Mark C. Brown

Sheriff Brown was raised on a wheat ranch in rural Eastern Oregon that has been in his family for more than 80 years.  After graduating from high school, Mark attended the University of Oregon where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1970.  Following college Mark served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy and began his career with the Washington State Patrol in June of 1974 where he served the citizens of Washington State for over 30 years primarily in Kitsap and Island County.  Mark was elected Sheriff in January of 2007. 

Mark has two grown children, Robbie and Christian.  Both of Mark’s children graduated from the University of Washington.  Robbie is currently serving as an Officer in the Navy working at the Pentagon.  Christian is currently enrolled and attending Law School at Willamette University.
